Unveiling an Bizarre Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Turdy Character with the Goal to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and enthusiasts have discovered a variety of interesting creations from small studios. However, one catches the eye for its offbeat concept. Called Unko Technica, this old-school styled jumping adventure includes a character that is truly a piece of poop striving to travel to a restroom. For those curious, "Unko" is Japanese for "poop."

The gameplay is straightforward: just use a single jump button. In 150 stages, battle mini-bosses and access a store to acquire skins for your dung hero.

Time your jumps precisely, since one mistake forces restarting the level. Bounce off bubbles to launch the poop to new heights, cross fragile platforms, and touch switches to unlock new areas. Collect coins and use them on challenging stages as gameplay ramps up.

In terms of design, the demo shows off vibrant stages and an amazing music score. The simple art with shifting basic polygons could recall gamers of classic titles like Earthbound.

Even though hard to think of other games where you play as a piece of feces, gaming frequently featured fecal matter. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, you can create explosives from protagonist waste. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize dung as fertilizer. And of course, fecal references appears extensively in the role-playing game The Stick of Truth.

Regardless of its humorous idea, Unko Technica has already garnered significant recognition, such as winning at Bandai Namco's indie contest in 2023. This trial version is accessible at present on Steam, with the final release set to arrive on Steam on November 19.
